In 1995, the owner of a large CNC shop got tired of replacing the existing Tool Eye’s, and along with a good friend designed and obtained a patent for the units you see on this web site.
In late 2005 the business was acquired by us to further expand the marketing of the company. Limited exposure throughout the early years offered limited growth.
To this day the two original designers (along with a third assembly professional) are still involved, although they are both retired. They are in charge of assembly and repair of the units.
Roger & Linda Cranford are the owners of Tool Eye, Inc., DBA Touchmaster, and in charge of all daily functions of the company.
The firm is small, only producing the units you see on the web site, we keep our over-head low in order to pass along the savings to our customers. There is no #800 number, our web site is simple. Our service is excellent and we stand behind our products.
Several design changes have been made over the last 18 years, better quality parts have been included in the coolant protection to keep the ever present “sticking” issues at bay. But all of our metal parts remain the same, stainless 303, no plastic, or pot metal is used in our assembly process.
